Mary ROKONADRAVU is a Fijian writer of fiction, nonfiction, and prose poetry. She won the Commonwealth Short Story Competition, Pacific region, in 2015; was shortlisted for the award in 2017; and won the competition again in 2022. Her work has been published by Granta, Synkrētic, and Northern Arizona University, and anthologized by Penguin Random House (Vintage), University of London Press, University of Canberra, and the Association of Commonwealth Languages and Literature. Interrogating a wide range of domains in her writing, including history, science, art, and religion, Rokonadravu received the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Fellowship for Writing and Cultural Exchange in 2016, and in Fall 2023, was selected as a Writer-in-Residence at the International Writing Program, University of Iowa, and an IWP@OICR Writer-in-Residence at the Oregon Institute for Creative Research. She is currently working on a novel
